Repair Mortars for Concrete
7777
Concrete Repair Mortars are specifically designed for the repair of concrete surfaces with mechanical damage (i.e. by impact or abrasion), chemical damage (i.e. by acidic water attack or clean water leaching), physical damage (i.e. freeze-thaw attack and thermal movement), or damage caused by steel reinforcement corrosion (leading to expansive rust formation then cracking and spalling of the concrete surface).

As a result of these different influences the type, nature and extent of concrete damage can be very varied. This means there will be a requirement to repair and replace damaged concrete areas and surfaces with repairs of different sizes and especially different thicknesses.

It is also normally best that a concrete repair mortar should have similar strengths to the original concrete specification, in order to avoid different thermal characteristics i.e 'normal' concrete is generally specified as C30-40, but in other structures this may be 'lightweight' ~C15, or higher for some structural applications ~C50-60 or more. Generally a repair mortar with similar strength should be selected.

Then the future exposure of the repair must be considered i.e. Does the repair have to resist any particular stresses such as any specific mechanical, chemical or physical exposure? In which case the repair mortar selected must also be resistant to this, or alternatively it must be protected by overcoating the area with a suitable thin layer / levelling / waterproofing mortar - or overcoating with a suitable protective coating product or system.

Sika MonoTop-615 Repair Mortar

Sika MonoTop-615 is a one component, polymer modified, cement based, high build repair and reprofiling mortar, meeting the requirements of Class R3 of European Standard EN 1504-3. It is designed to be used for repairing all types of structures, with overhead and vertical repairs by hand or spray application.

Sika MonoTop-615 can be used internally as well as externally when a 35MPa strength is acceptable as an alternative to structural Class R1 & R2 mortars, where the high-build and ease of application can be a distinct advantage.

Sika MonoTop-615 is pre-batched and pre-bagged for quality control and it is only necessary to add water on site. The material can be sprayed by the wet-spray method and its cohesive nature and high build properties also mean that there is much lower wastage and therefore cost-savings over traditional cement based repair mortars.

Sika MonoTop-620 Levelling Mortar

Sika MonoTop-620 is a one component, polymer modified, cement based concrete levelling mortar, which is designed for use as a a thin layer render or concrete pore sealer/levelling mortar/smoothing coat /fairing coat - particularly in concrete restoration and repair works. Sika MonoTop-620 is part of the Sika MonoTop concrete repair sytem and conforms to the requirements of European Standard EN 1504 Part 2

Sika MonoTop-620 can also be used to repair minor surface defects in concrete structures and it also provides additional surface protection against aggressive atmospheric influences such as carbonation and moisture or chloride ingress. It is frequently used in new and existing structures to repair honeycombed areas of the concrete finish.

This levelling mortar is easy to use as it is pre-bagged for quality control, has no solvent or VOC's so it can be used internally as well as externally, mixing is easy - just add water. The mixed material can then be applied by hand / trowel or it can be sprayed by the 'wet-spray' method.

When cured Sika MonoTop-620 forms an ideal substrate for the aplication of Sikagard protective coatings.

Sika MonoTop-612 Repair Mortar

Sika MonoTop-612 is a one component, polymer modified, cement-based, repair mortar / microconcrete, containing silica fume and meeting the requirements of Class R4 of European Standard EN 1504-3. it is primarily designed for spray application by the wet spray process, but it can also be easily hand applied in smaller areas where this is more practicable.

Sika MonoTop-612 can be used for repairing all types of structures and for horizontal, vertical and overhead repairs. It is therefore useable in place of a whole range of repair mortars including EN 1504-3 Class R1, R2 & R3 mortars - Therefore Sika MonoTop-612 can have considerable logistics advantages and provide cost savings on many projects with variable types, sizes and locations of concrete repair requirements - As only this one repair mortar is required.

Sika MonoTop-612 is pre-bagged for Quality Control, water is added in the wet spray pump or in the mixing vessel for hand application. It is easy to mix and apply with an adjustable consistency to suit each specific application. The material then cures quickly allowing overcoating with Sika levelling mortars or protective coatings without extended delays. Sika MonoTop-612 has low shrinkage, low permeability, good mechanical properties and strength correlation. Sika MonoTop-612 is tested and approved as being suitable for use in contact with drinking water (DWI Approved).

Sika-MonoTop-614F Flowable Repair Mortar

Sika® MonoTop-614F is a cement based, one component flowable repair mortar (High Flow) containing shrinkage compensators and high range water-reducing agents, meeting the requirements of Class R4 of BS EN 1504-3. It is designed for flow application into horizontal areas of repair, or shuttered / formwork surrounded repair to structural concrete. plus for forming crane rails and machine bases as a micro-concrete in a structural grouting operation up to 200mm thick.

Sika® MonoTop-614F is supplied pre-bagged with only water to be added on site to achieve the desired consistency for pumping or pouring into place without additional compaction necessarily being required.

Sika® MonoTop-614F has an adjustable consistency and so is easy to pump or pour, it is shrinkage compensated, forming an excellent and highly durable bond to the parent concrete.

SikaTop-122 Repair Mortar

SikaTop-122 Repair Mortar is a two component, polymer modified, cement based, fibre reinforced, waterproof, concrete repair mortar. It is designed for repairing all types of concrete structures including structural repairs to vertical and horizontal surfaces, including floor repairs.

SikaTop-122 Repair Mortar is supplies as a complete and totally pre-batched unit for maximum Quality Control, there are no other materials to be added on site - not even water. The powder component is placed in a compulsory mixer (crete-angle type), or in a mixing vessel with helical mixing paddles on an electric drill mixer, and then all of the liquid component is added slowly whilst mixing continuously.

SikaTop-122 Repair Mortar is used for hand applied repairs that are placed 'wet on wet' into the Bonding Bridge coat (i.e. SikaTop 121) The SikaTop-122 Repair Mortar is widely used for concrete repairs throughout the Water Industry and is DWI Approved for contact with Potable (Drinking) Water.

Sika-Rapid-Repair-Mortar

Sika Rapid Repair Mortar is a one component, fast setting, cement based concrete repair mortar. which meets the requirements of Class R4 of European Standard EN 1504-3. It is designed to be used for concrete repairs on all types of structure requiring a Class R4 Repair Mortar for easy hand application and trowel finishing followed by rapid gain of strength and fast setting to a structural level,

Sika Rapid Repair Mortar is normally used for horizontal and vertical repairs including trafficked floor slabs and car park decks for example.

As an R$ Repair Mortar it can also be used everywhere that R1, R2 or R3 Mortars are specified if this is easier and more cost effective logistically for example.

Sika Rapid Repair Mortar is supplied pre-bagged for Quality Control, it is only necessary to add water on site. The material has a rapid gain of strength to a good structural level and typically at 20C is as follows: 2 hrs ~ 10 N/mm2 1 day ~ 50 N/mm2 7 days ~ 60 N/mm2 28 days ~ 70 N/mm2
